Where do we go from here?

Hiram Revels of Mississippi February 25, 1870 First African American Senator. Black America has come a long way from Hiram Revels to Barack H. Obama, the 44th President of the United States.

The Reconstruction Era - This is the period in United States history after the Civil War between 1865 and 1877. During the Reconstruction the Democratic Party began its dominion over southern politics. The Democratic Party’s answer to the new integrated south was the enactment of Jim Crow laws and the birth of the Ku Klux Klan. Why do black people flock to the Democratic Party? Are our memories so short? We need to review our history and take a more pragmatic and comprehensive approach to our political and economic future.
